A Trademark gives you the exclusive legal right to use your brand name, logo, tagline, or product name in India. Without a registered trademark, anyone can copy your brand and you have limited legal recourse.
Trademark registration under the Trade Marks Act, 1999 is administered by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks. The process takes 18–24 months for full registration, but a TM symbol can be used from the date of application.
